Oratorio San Carlo e San Francesco
Nibbiano, Località Strà (PC)
Patricia Treib enacts the jubilation of painting as a gesture of form and colour. Her large, vibrant and undulating brushstrokes, like those of a painter and decorator, are extremely polished. She possesses Matisse’s joy in colour combined with Morandi’s almost Oriental gestural art and even something of Magnelli, whom she nevertheless claims not to know. Her painting is modular and abstract with distant figurative echoes. It is also extremely modern as it hides the passage of Surrealism and many French experiment of the Sixties. Quality does not demand and has no need of explanations. It is an end to itself and represents a joyous miracle which fills us with cheer every time we see it manifest on earth.
