Nari Ward is now celebrated worldwide but mostly known in Italy for his installation Amazing Grace in Massimiliano Gioni’s exhibition “La Grande Madre”, with its 280 baby strollers linked by the heart-rending singing of Mahalia Jackson. He will bring to the small rural and urban context of Val Luretta one of his poetic works which are able to bring the most humble and unlikely objects back to life, exploiting the experience and potential of the “human” legacy preserved in them by the role they played before they were abandoned. Ward is a great visual poet of our time able to narrate and make history with existential fragments of matter and memory.
