Sleipnir, or “he who slips quickly away”, is the mythological mount of the Nordic god Odin. Honouring his mother’s Nordic roots, Duilio Forte adopts this legendary figure as a monumental symbol of his work as a designer – as an explorer of worlds that border on myth and reality, bridging the past and the future. His desire for adventure, curiosity for mysterious, life-giving forces in nature and the cognitive power of modern man are all concealed in this metaphorically loaded eight-legged horse, which will stand in the courtyard of Palazzo Gotico, creating an intriguing dialogue with the baroque masterpieces of Francesco Mochi.
